So, you’re coming to Northern Ireland this autumn. (We’ll be glad to have you!)
You already know you can discover the best the country has to offer, from the Giant’s Causeway to Belfast’s complex and intriguing history, right here with Legends of the North.
But what can you do to keep yourself busy between tours? How can you get a real taste for the city and its unique flavour?
Well, try these suggestions out for size…
As we wave off the last few weeks of warm(ish) days and dry(ish) weather, we need to prepare ourselves for the arrival of autumn. And what better way to do just that than heading to the Autumn Fair at Belfast’s Botanic Gardens?
The festival takes place on the weekend of 19th-20th September, and will no doubt be one of the highlights of your Irish break. In between exploring the city and the natural beauty of rural Ireland, you can pop to the festival and enjoy all things autumn, with a fun Irish twist.
Good food, seasonal flowers and oodles of family fun to be had, there’s something for everyone; with lots of fruit, vegetables and even more exotic foliage on display. Of course, if you’re after more entertainment than botanical observation, you will enjoy the superb live music on offer and the various stalls, selling everything from crafts and jewellery, to food and more. And don’t worry if you have little ones to keep busy because the Autumn Fair has plenty of free and kid-friendly activities, including face painting!

From 23rd September to 4th October, there will be comedy events at venues all across the city. The majority of feature stand-up acts are on in the evenings, but you’ll find comedy theatre, musical comedy, sketches and workshops to split your sides to as well.
Go as a group, make it a date or head out solo. You’ll always have a warm Irish welcome and a great time to boot.
NI Coffee Festival 2015
Calling all coffee lovers!
If you’re set to visit Northern Ireland this September, you are in for a treat.
T13 in the Titanic Quarter of Belfast is hosting the very first Northern Ireland Coffee Festival, 26th-27th September 2015. Now, this is not just a small-scale start-up event; this is big moment for the city and its espresso-loving community.
As well as coffee-related sights, sounds, smells and tastes there will be lots on offer to keep the 4000 expected visitors occupied. Gourmet food stalls, a cinema, street food, live music, tastings and artisan tea and coffee stalls are just the tip of the iceberg. You’ll also have live music to enjoy and barista competitions to satisfy your competitive streak.
Of course, if you’re going to enjoy the coffee itself, you’ll be able to explore the Roasting Village, tasting various blends, before going to Q&A sessions with coffee experts. And if you’re a tea drinker? There’s plenty to cater for your tastes too!
So whether you need to refuel after days of touring the city and adventuring throughout Co. Antrim, or you simply fancy a good “Cuppa Joe”, the NI Coffee Festival is something to pop on that To Do List.
